Don't know if I'll be first in line for the underwear checks, but I'll most definately be in the line ... multiple times ... check early, and check often, I always say!

Boo, hoo! I've been looking forward the the M&G party for a month and now my hubby doesn't think he wants to go because he just had surgery on his hand and he thinks he'll look like a freak!  Hopefully I can get him to change his mind! If we show up...he'll be the freak with the wrapped hand!

SmokinBarrels: The following M&G will be the 3rd Saturday (16 Feb). Mardi Gras and Valentines's Day will both have already passed. But since this group celbrates all year round, flowers, chocolates, and beads are ALWAYS welcome.
Inphase: Glad you'll make it. Hope he does too. We are a fun bunch and having a wrapped hand would be a good conversation starter, as well as a great excuse for the ladies to bestow some extra TLC on him.
Hmmmmmm ....  ... now that I think of it, I may have to pack an ACE bandage just in case he does stay home!

I've kept an eye on the crowds for sometime...WE don't pay a cover charge, there have been too many nights when they have had only about 100 people other than our group, at $5.00 a head cover charge ($500.00) doesn't come close. I hire some of the same bands for other events and know how much they cost, 'good' bands are going at $1500.00 right now, great bands like Trixie Delight etc, are over $2000.00..... do the math.... I talked to Steve about the situation, he said if the crowds get better by April, he may bring bands back in the bar. They are going to bring in National bands when the new stage is built in the ballroom, they're hoping to get Journey as the first one..

I know some of you will have strong opinions on bands but $2000 is a wast of $$$$ if you can get a DJ from $150 - $300. Sounds like the M&G was a good one. Hope to make the next one as I am new to the STL and need to network & press the flesh.

Just curious if anyone had any strong feelings about the lack of a live band at the Jan M&G. I've never been to the Stratford unless they had someone live on stage. Did it make the M&G better? worse? same?
